Update: The Gazette has coverage here and reports that about 400 people have enrolled in the Walt Whitman MOOC so far.
The University of Iowa is offering their first MOOC, a six-week course on Walt Whitman’s Song of Myself, which starts February 17th.
A second MOOC is planned for this summer.
I’m interested to see how successful these are, as they seem to be a great–and inexpensive for the enrollee–alternative to more traditional community education courses. If they do well, I can probably think of I few topics I’d like to see the Iowa Law School offer MOOCs on (hint, hint).
Enrollment is now open, you can enroll here.
